I’ve caught myself smiling. A lot. When I’m alone. I’ll think of someone, something, a moment, a feeling. It makes me smile. I’ve caught myself doing it a lot lately. While I’m working, while I’m out for a walk, even while I’m talking to someone. It’s kinda nice.
When I first saw this pic, I was going to make a snarky comment about how much of a ham my niece is:
And then I saw the pic below, which pretty much sums up my life right now. Hysterical, no?
It’s mid-September, so the garden is past its flourishing stage, but Jocelyn and I were able to take some good photos of what’s still there.

Hanging behind Jocelyn is an upo (or bottle gourd). We had a lot of them this year.
