iPod Update

After writing my dramatic iPod Death post, I thought it would be nice to let everyone know that I have a new iPod. Say ‘hello’ to… well, I didn’t name it. Um… say ‘hello’ to Chuck! Too bad I got a pink protective case for Chuck. Now he thinks he’s a girl.

Chuck is a 32GB iPod Touch, purchased used from one of my friends on the Interwebz (thanks, Huff!). In addition to playing music, Chuck does a crapload of other stuff. He’s like my iPhone but used solely for music, and he doesn’t make any calls. My niece already knows the difference between my phone and Chuck. She prefers playing with the Chuck now.

Are you creeped out by the fact that I’m calling my iPod Chuck and referring to it as a him? No? Awesome.

I have to admit that I miss the click wheel on Old Man iPod, but it’s nice to finally be using current iPod technology (which will very quickly become old). I’m mostly happy to finally be able to listen to my music and podcasts again.

Speaking of podcasts, I can’t say enough about The Nerdist. Chris Hardwick, will you marry me? No? Well… then, can we be friends? Please?

P.S. See? Having Internet friends pays off. Had I not bitched and moaned about the death of my iPod, I never would’ve gotten such a nice deal on a replacement.

Twitter Was Attacked And I Freaked Out

Twitter was attacked today and the site went kablooey! I totally freaked out. I’m amazed at how much I missed Twitter. Based on activity on Facebook, I wasn’t the only one. After more than an hour, Twitter finally came back online, but it’s currently still spotty and I still feel like I’ve missed hundreds of updates.

Does the fact that I had an emotional reaction to Twitter being down make me crazy? Or a big loser in need of a social life? It’s possible that I need to find ways to interact with people physically…but then we’d all be on our phones anyway. You’re making fun of my craziness, but you know I’m right.

iTunes…

…really needs to make it possible to save your libary online just in case you’re working with more than one computer.

The REAL Evil Genius is Joss Whedon

Photo from LATimes.com

With Dr. Horrible, Joss Whedon (third from left) continues to show the world that he is an evil genius. Credit must also be given to his brothers Zack and Jed and Jed’s fiance Maurissa Tanharoen. But anyway, I finally watched the conclusion to Dr. Horrible. And I don’t know what I was expecting, but my overall reaction is that Joss et al is truly smart, twisted, and awesome. Even with this little Internet project, Mr. Whedon manages to teach us a lesson. Just watch it already at www.drhorrible.com.

P.S. My crush on Neil Patrick Harris continues

P.P.S. Who wants to bet that Joss goes to bed at night laughing an evil laugh? Muwahahahaha!!!!!!

Internet Radio Site: Pandora.com

I made a discovery today: Pandora Radio. It’s an Internet radio site that creates a station based on your favorite bands and songs. I’ve been listening for about an hour and it is waaaay better than Yahoo’s radio. It actually DOES play songs and bands you’ll like and takes you seriously when you tell it you don’t like something. I mean, I didn’t realize how much I liked Fischerspooner! Overall, I feel like I’m listening to my iPod on shuffle, but with little new surprises thrown in that I still dig.
