If Rob Thomas has taught us anything, it's that characters on Veronica Mars are expendable. Even the most seemingly important people in Veronica's world (and actors we love) may be gone in the next episode! The photo above is a superb example of the constantly evolving cast of Veronica Mars - there are maybe only 3 or 4 actors pictured who will still be around in Season 3. Below are the series regulars (past and present) as well as beloved friends - and enemies we love to hate - who deserve to be listed with them. At least we know Kristen Bell is a permanent fixture!

Veronica Mars played by Kristen Bell Veronica Mars is a badass! We wish Kristen Bell was our friend.	Keith Mars played by Enrico Colantoni Best dad on TV. I hear Galaxy Quest was awesome! Rico is Canadian.
Wallace Fennel played by Percy Daggs III Veronica's loyal best friend. Wonder what Percy's hair will look like next season?	Duncan Kane played by Teddy Dunn The most well-behaved 09er ever (with the exception of Meg). How did he and Logan become best friends? Teddy went to Northwestern!
Logan Echolls played by Jason Dohring Hailed by some as the most believable conflicted character on TV. Jason seems to be the nicest guy in real life.	Eli "Weevil" Navarro played by Francis Capra Will Rob Thomas ever reveal how Weevil got his nickname? There should be a great story behind it. Francis is Italian and the great-grandson of world-renowned director Frank Capra (It's a Wonderful Life).
Dick Casablancas played by Ryan Hansen What a dumbass. Ryan is a Christian and is married!	Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas played by Kyle Gallner His name is Cassidy, dammit! Kyle has appeared on HBO's Big Love and is good friends with Ryan Hansen.
Jackie Cook played by Tessa Thompson Veronica must really love Wallace to put up with Jackie. Tessa has acted on stage with The Colony Theatre Company in Burbank.	Miss Dent played by Sydney Tamiia Poitier Poor Miss Dent. Didn't even get a proper farewell. Sydney is the daughter of actor Sydney Poitier

Beloved Friends
Lilly Kane played by Amanda Seyfried No one seems to comment on Lilly's ho-ness. But we love her anyway! Amanda is a regular on HBO's Big Love and was in Mean Girls.	Cindy "Mac" Mackenzie played by Tina Majorino We love Mac, that crazy genius! Tina appears in HBO's Big Love. She acted a lot as a child and then took 5 years off before returning in Napoleon Dynamite.
Meg Manning played by Alona Tal Meg - the last good person in Neptune. English is Alona's second language. She's a TV star in Israel, her native country.	Leo D'Amato played by Max Greenfield Hmm...he's cute. Max and Kristen are the same age in real life.
Cliff McCormack played by Daran Norris Cliff is probably one of the worst lawyers in the country. Daran and Rob Thomas knew each other as children.	Alicia Fennel played by Erica Gimpel What does Alicia do at Kane Software? Erica was in the cast of the TV Series "Fame".
Trina Echolls played by Alyson Hannigan Okay, so maybe we're not supposed to like Trina. She's kind of a nutcase! We do, however, LOVE Alyson Hannigan! WP!	Backup played by Lefty He's come through for Veronica and Keith more than once. The original Backup was difficult to work with, so Lefty was hired to replace him.

Sheriff Don Lamb played by Michael Muhney We hate Sheriff Lamb for obvious reasons. Michael Muhney is from Chicago!	Lianne Mars played by Corinne Bohrer Deadbeat Mom! Wonder if a new storyline is in her future? Corinne looks good for someone born in 1958!
Clarence Weidman played by Christopher B. Duncan CW probably doesn't need to be on the hate list, but he did give Veronica a hard time season 1. Christopher was a series regular on The Jamie Foxx Show.	Aaron Echolls played by Harry Hamlin No need to wonder where Logan got his psychotic jackassness from. Harry may be on the next season of Dancing With the Stars.
Kendall Casablancas played by Charisma Carpenter Kendall is Cordelia, pre-Angel, if she had grown up on the streets. Charisma is half Mexican (and we love her because she was on Buffy).	Woody Goodman played by Steve Guttenberg What can we say about Mayor Goodman? Steve is famous for his roles in the Police Academy movies andThree Men and a Baby.
