Friday Night Lights: I Knew You When

God bless friends with DirecTV. And God bless Taylor Kitsch’s abs. Without spoiling it for everyone, here’s my take on the episode.

Best line: “She went to bed with Jesus and woke up with you.”

Poor Saracen: There’s a never-ending bucket of crap that keeps getting dumped on this poor guy. I hope it turns around for him. In related news, the new quarterback is a real threat.

Realistic storyline? I won’t reveal anything, but someone needs to explain how Tami Taylor got her new job. After pondering that for a moment, I saw what a stroke of genius it was to put her in her new position.

Smash & Street: Everyone who pays attention should know by now that these two characters are going to be written off the show this season. No Jason Street sightings yet, but I am loving how they’re handling the Smash storyline.

It is an absolute crime that this show isn’t being aired on NBC right now and that it is not getting the recognition it deserves. I truly hope that this isn’t the last season of FNL, but only time will tell.

Friday Night Lights: Season 3

Let me start by saying that I’m so glad Ausiello is back online after taking a month off between jobs at TVGuide.com and his new gig at EW.com. As any rabid TV fan knows, this past week has been the TCA Press Tour where all the networks talk about all the shows coming up this season. I haven’t been more excited than today, when news on Friday Night Lights was finally released. I’m just sorry that I don’t have DirecTV, which will start airing season 3 on October 1. The season won’t start on NBC until 2009. Sucks! But…ahem…thank God for the Internet…I mean – thank goodness for friends with DirecTV and DVR!

Rather than rehashing what’s already on every entertainment site, I’ll point you to my personal favorite, Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly, for the scoop.

Now, what is the deal with the Emmys snubbing this show once again? I’m just glad that the cast, crew, producers, etc don’t seem to get demoralized by it all. Some props would be nice, though.

Buy Friday Night Lights Season 2 on DVD

The super short second season of Friday Night Lights will be available on DVD next Tuesday, 4/22. Go out and buy it! Also, in case you haven’t already heard, a third season has been ordered. It’s only 13 episodes, but at the very least, they’ll be able to wrap up some storylines. Damn the writer’s strike! We were totally ripped off this season. I just hope Riggins isn’t still pining for Lyla. I mean, there’s no way that can ever last, right? Give him something more fun to do than being a little puppy dog beeyotch. It does give us some funny moments, though. Hmm. BUY IT NOW.

Friday Night Lights

So, tonight’s episode of Friday Night Lights is almost over, and all I can think is – what the hell is Smash’s favorite dessert?

But, on to the important stuff. Let’s face it, folks…this episode is probably the season finale. The DVD of these 15 episodes is already scheduled to be released on April 22.

Hold on, Scott Porter is making me weep like a baby with his Jason Street “I gonna be your baby daddy” speech. I’ve missed good old Jason Street. I’m actually completely OK with this turn of events.

The star of tonight’s episode is…..Gracie Belle’s pink parka! How awesome was that? Honorable mentions go to Tim Riggins’ Christian sports radio show and the constant delight that is Landry. Also worth mentioning is the Smash-Whitmore thing. Boooos go to Matt Czuchry’s bad haircut, the fact that we never find out if the Panthers won the game from last week (unless I missed it), and Peter Berg’s annoying Mo. I’m curious to know if he wrote himself into the show or if the character was already written and they just couldn’t find anyone else to play him??

Josh Duhamel is really hot. My TV is still on NBC. Sorry.

Dillon is a Sad Place

TyraLast night’s episode of Friday Night Lights was brilliant as usual. But, upon reflection, I got really upset. Can these characters ever really be happy or have a good day? Can the Panthers ever encounter a team that isn’t comprised of a bunch of douchebags? Can Tim Riggins ever catch a break? Can Tyra and Landry either get together for real or leave each other alone forever? I’m starting to feel really badly for these people! Here’s to better times in Dillon!!

Oh Man, I Love This Show

I got my Instant Star Season 2 DVD last week and popped it in yesterday. I was kind of bored, so I put in the special features disc and watched the bloopers. And I CANNOT believe that the *** ***** and **** ****** ****ing blooper hasn’t leaked onto YouTube yet.

My subconscious must have been thinking about it because I had a spooky dream that has led me to re-watch last week’s Friday Night Lights to make sure that there’s not a threesome scene in which we see a little more of one of our favorite football players than is allowed on network television. Man, am I twisted! I mean, the dream was SO twisted that I’m not even going to describe it here. Nice.

“Sometimes we walk where the streets have no name…and we still cannot find what we’re looking for.” Oh, Spiederman. How wise you are. Yes.

Zach Gilford – My, Oh, My!

Okay, let me just say this about Friday Night Lights - I never understood why my sister thought Zach Gilford/Matt Saracen was hot. I mean, the character is bumbling and sweet, but the hotness factor never really registered with me. Ooooh…but give a brother a backbone and he is looking all kinds of hot now!

Lots happened, but let me start with Landry and Matt. First of all, it was nice to see them as friends again. We didn’t have Landry glued to Tyra’s hip for once. He engrossed himself in football and even had a minute to comment on Matt’s “love life”. Matt finally snapped, but in the best way possible, by telling off Coach Taylor AND Julie. Finally! Oh yeah, he also didn’t give in to Smash…my, oh my. Plus, it looks like Matty’s gonna get himself some lovin’ next week. Matty is really shaping up to be a manly man, huh? It’s like a sober and responsible Riggins.
