Dollhouse: Spy in the House of Love

Tonight’s Dollhouse….holy shit. It kills me that the first five episodes are complete throwaways. I genuinely love this show now. Aw, Reed Diamond…nice going. And Enver Gjokaj…oh my god!! Sierra – damn, she is GREAT at playing a spy if you ask me. Too bad Alias isn’t on anymore. And Dushku really pulled it off this episode! Oooh….Mellie…wonder what’s going to happen to her! Paul Ballard better watch his back.

The only thing we still need? More Harry Lennix! Interesting yet subtle development with his character tonight.

Joss Whedon: GENIUS. And thank you.

The Infamous Sixth Episode of Dollhouse

Isnt' Tahmoh pretty?

We’ve been hearing it for weeks now….the sixth episode of Dollhouse will be pivotal…it will show us what the series is all about…it’ll change everyone’s minds about the show.

Oh, Joss Whedon, you trickster! I had just about lost faith in Dollhouse – and was trying not to expect too much from the famed sixth episode. But this episode delievered big time! (Sidenote: how much Tahmoh Penikett can a girl handle in one night of television? Guess it’s not really an issue anymore.) In addition, despite that problems that many critics and I had with the first five episodes, we kind of needed that stuff in order to fully appreciate what happened during this episode:

  • Ooooh, Mellie. I knew something was up with you, but WOW.
  • I think I have a crush on Victor. No joke. I think I’m hot for Enver Gjokaj.
  • How kickass is Langdon?
  • Does Tahmoh Penikett do the nasty on every project he works on or what? It’s just dirty. And yummy.
  • The previews for next week’s episode have got me REALLY excited. It’s nice to see that Joss Whedon hasn’t totally lost his genius sense of humor!

Okay, I hate saying this, but something’s gotta be done about Eliza Dushku. I love the girl, and she has great moments, but one of the major reasons that I enjoyed this episode is because it didn’t really focus on her and so it didn’t matter if she sucked at the acting part. Look, we can complain all we want, but in the real world, there is no Dollhouse without Eliza Dushku (who also has a Producer credit), and I know Joss won’t ever be disloyal to his girl. Seriously, though…Eliza is at her best when she’s kicking someone’s ass. And that’s that.

Do Crazy Random Happenstances Exist?

I think I have a crush on Neil Patrick Harris. It may be because I just watched the third season of How I Met Your Mother over the few days. Or, maybe it’s because of his brilliant performance in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. I have to hand it to Joss Whedon. Who else would think up of this completely genius and quirky concept?

Anyway, Acts I and II of Dr. Horrible are up. Act III will be live on July 19.

In other Whedon news, I cannot WAIT for Dollhouse to start. Joss Whedon’s return to TV with a show starring Eliza Dushku restores some of my faith in the world (or at least in network television)

P.S. Let’s give Nathan Fillion some love. I miss Mal.
