Gossip Girl All I can really remember about this episode is that Chace Crawford was MIA. I liked the Chuck/Dan bonding, but Penn Badgley is starting to get on my nerves. We saw classic Blair bitchery in this episode, but I think we can all agree that the Serena-Blair rift is much more interesting (and believable) than them being true best friends. Finally, how dumb is Rufus that he didn’t notice that Jenny was skipping school? Actually, scratch that. How dumb is DAN that he didn’t notice? He’s the one to blame if you ask me. And how dumb is this school that they just go ahead and let Jenny drop out without informing her parents or staging some type of conference/intervention to discuss it? Puh-lease.
One Tree Hill Nanny Carrie’s dead! Millicent is back! Dan is free! I feel badly for Nathan since he was told he can’t play pro basketball, like, ever. Poor guy can’t get a break. But at least he’s got a pretty wife and a great kid at home. I’m happy Dan is free. I hope they make him a little less evil this time around. The whole book thing for Lucas is annoying and was obviously just a way to get him to reconnect with Lindsay. And the whole Peyton and maybe biological dad thing – can’t she just call (real) Derek and ask him to send her a picture of their dad? Is it that difficult? Please, Mark Schwann. This one could have been executed much better.
Privileged I totally heart this show. JoAnna Garcia is just so superb. And I have to to mention the hotties! Nice. Last week’s episode was such a great one. I think it’s one of the freshest approaches we’ve seen to the whole sex issue in a long time. The awkwardness during Megan’s date was totally classic! It’s a scenario that we don’t see played out too often at all, but it’s one that anyone can relate to. Along those lines, l love how Will is intrigued by Megan, but is still a total player and knows he’s not ready for her. And the subtle showings of love that we see from Charlie….sigh. Anyhoo, the twins continue to be great characters – I LOVE Sage in this episode – and we got to see more of Megan’s sister. Shout out to Marco – quite possibly my favorite character on this show.
Pushing Daisies It’s so nice to see a new episode of this great, great show. My favorite part – the shout out to Happy Time! It was doubly exciting since I happened to be having a Dead Like Me marathon last week. I thought that this episode was a great way to introduce or re-introduce viewers to the show. Here’s hoping for an awesome second season! Bryan Fuller is the shiznit when it comes to creative storytelling. I hope we get to see some favorites from Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me. Diane Scarwid playing Mother Superior was just a tease!!
Ugly Betty Let me just get this out of the way: Justin’s over-the-topness is starting to get unfunny. That being said, I think this episode was a great return to the Ugly Betty we know and love. And, call me a sucker, but I’m totally into the Daniel/D.J. moments that we got in these first two episodes. I still find the whole new guy in Betty’s life thing really sudden, unnecessary, and unrealistic, but if they’re going to give her a new guy, Val Emmich is a great choice (30 Rock, hello?!). It looks like the next episode will finally get us back to the Ugly Betty that we know and love. Just one request: MORE Marc and Amanda!! How hard were you laughing when Eddie Cibrian graced them with his presence??

Smallville Justin Hartley shirtless? How you doin’? In all seriousness, though, we learned in last week’s episode that Oliver and Tess knew each other (intimately) in the past and that it did not end well. It was nice to see some insight into Tess’s past. Tess also informed Ollie that Lionel Luthor killed his parents, so he went all insane on Clark since he assumed (correctly) that Clark knew the truth. We got to see Chloe use her brainiac new power, Clark included. So he went ahead and freaked out about it to her. Finally, Davis Bloom? Still totally creepy.
Happy TV watching!
